sudo without a password on MX-19 Empty sudo without a password on MX-19

Wow, this one was PITA to figure out.  MX went that extra mile to make it completely unintuitive.  I had modified the sudoers file to allow root privileges to user, but still required password to use sudo.  Then found out about policykit polkit-1.  Had to modify both to eliminate the sudo password requirement.  They went out of their way to make this as esoteric and confusing as possible to do.  But I appreciate MX much more with that done.  I can live with typing sudo, but to re-enter password every fifteen minutes sucked.  Oh and if anybody is super worried about security, you can have more than one user and only give one user this power.  Log in on restricted user account if it makes you feel better.  Being long term Puppy Linux fan for lot years, running as root seemed fine on a one user personal computer.  Sure if you are running multi user system, then passwords make lot more sense.  Probably dont want most users on such a system to be able to modify the system.

By way if you want real security look for a system that uses containers, one for each program.  Then also encrypt your storage partition.  The password thing really isnt going to make a single user personal computer more secure.  Encrypt it if you dont want anybody else using your computer.
