Win10 local account gets more difficult to set up
I had posted suggesting somebody upgrading from win7 to win10 create a local account rather than set up Microsoft account. Somebody else posted you couldnt create a local account.
Well in my experience installing win10, I simply cant connect to internet until I have control, manually install an old Samsung driver for my ancient 3G phone (driver intended for winXP) and then set up dialer to connect the old fashion way. Its very unintuitive. So instead I just say no over and over and it finally gives me option for local account.
Well seems if you do auto connect to internet then win10 setup wont even give you option of a local account. https://www.pcworld.com/article/3409788/how-microsoft-made-it-harder-to-create-windows-10-local-accounts.html
Tricky dicky. They really, really, really want to be able to identify and track you and sell your info. No doubt the local account option will disappear altogether in not too distant future.
